There are currently over 350 literature festivals in the UK with less than 10% solely dedicated to children.

As a writer of children’s books I have very fond memories of taking part in the Festival myself, and know it to be delightful, imaginative, innovative – and beautifully organised. This 9 day festival has a jam-packed programme with the opening weekend featuring events and performances at the National Museum of Scotland. Now in its eighteenth year, Southbank Centre’s Imagine Children’s Festival notches up more than 180 events in 12 days – half of which are free.
